Cresson Sportsmans will be having their 2nd
annual PA Coyote Hunt Starting on March 7 @ 12:01am and ending on March 9 @ 6:00pm, two weeks after Mosquito Creek Sportsmans
(February 22, 23 and 24, 2008).
We will once again have the $5000.00 Guaranteed Prize Money for the hunt.
We had 17 coyotes turned in last year from The PA Statewide Coyote Hunt from Lycoming, Cambria, Somerset, Indiana,
Washington, Mifflin, Bradford, Greene, Erie, and Tioga Counties. The
heaviest Coyote turned in was 44.0 lbs. The coyote was donated to the club
and will be mounted as our first coyote hunt winner. We will be having it
mounted on a plaque with brass paw prints showing all of the past winners of the
First Annual PA Coyote Hunt. The club was able to secure a few coyote
sponsors for the year (Fox Pro game calls, PA Outdoor News, and Good Ole Boy
Outdoors TV)
The sportsmans grounds consist of a well
stocked bass and trout pond, a 25, 50 and 100 yard range, a 16 yards trap range,
an ASA approved softball field, pavilion and clubhouse rentals. The club
sponsors a Statewide Coyote Hunt, as well as a cosponsored (with L. Robert
Kimball & Associates, Inc.) softball team named after it "The Kimball Coyote's".
The club also hosts an end of summer jam, a toys for tots event, and other
miscellaneous community and charity events. The trap team is part of the
mountain top trap league, and is doing rather well this year. There is a
3D Archery benefit shoot September 1st this year.
